What does Cage-Free Pet Care mean?

Just that! On the Spot offers boarding, daycare, and grooming services free of kennels or cages. Dogs are welcome to play, nap or hang out inside or outside all day. We do kennel or separate pets at meal time and sleep time. 

What are some reasons pets may be kenneled at your facility?

 Although most dogs love our cage-free atmosphere... it is not ideal for all pets.

Dogs and cats that are not spayed or neutered may be kenneled if needed. Some other reasons dogs or cats may be kenneled are:

  • Owner’s request
  • Displaying any signs of illness
  • Aggressive Behavior
  • For Safety
  • To properly dry after bathing

What is a typical day at doggy daycare and boarding like?

Your dog’s fun filled day begins at 7:00am. They may choose to be supervised inside with the air-conditioning or outside in the fresh air. Our play yards are secure and feature play-ground safe certified wood chips, artificial turf,  and pea gravel. There is plenty of opportunity for activity with wading pools, climbing and agility toys, and the yard is big enough for your dog to run and play. Our care givers also promote proper social skills between other dogs and people.

Nap or Rest time is daily between 12-2:30pm. This is when we promote rest and relaxation. No games, interactive or engaged play is done during this time.

Dinner is served at approximately 6:00 pm. After dinner your pet is free to play or just hang out until they are tucked in for the night at approximately 8:00pm.

Do you separate large from small dogs?

Yes, each has their own daycare and play yard. We have several outside yards so we also have the capability to separate dogs into other play groups such as puppies and seniors when appropriate.

What Vaccinations do you require?

We require that all of our canine friends be current on their DHPP, rabies, and bordetella vaccines. Our feline friends are required to be current on their rabies and FVRCP(P) vaccines. Please have these records available to us no later than your check-in time. 
We can also accept an email of vaccination records from your Vet's office. Or a text with a picture of the records attached. We do not have Fax available. 

Can you give my pet his/her needed vaccinations?

We are happy to administer the Bordetella and the DHPP vaccinations at a low cost. The Rabies vaccination is only available through a veterinarian. We are happy to give you a referral to a vet in your area. Remember that if your pet is overdue for a vaccine, it is best to have the vaccine done at least 1 week prior to boarding or daycare so it has time to take full effect.

Can my pet stay at your facility if his/her immunizations are not current?

We do not allow any pet to be boarded, attend daycare, or be groomed without verification  that all required immunizations are up to date.

Can we pick up or drop off our pet before or after posted hours?

Our pick up and drop off hours are strictly between 7:30am and 12:00pm or 2:00pm and 6:00pm weekdays- 9:00am to 12:00pm on Saturdays. We are closed Sunday.

Although pet care- givers are here before and after these hours they are not permitted to unlock the doors. This policy is enforced for the safety of your pets. Care-givers are not trained or permitted to intake or release pets. They are here ONLY to care for and supervise your pets and cannot be distracted from this .

Can you administer medications to my pets during their stay with you?

Yes. Our staff has been properly trained to give a variety of medications. Please make sure that the medication is clearly labeled with legible directions for use so we can ensure these medications are given correctly. Typically there is no charge for this service.  There  may be a small fee charged for some medications to be administered.

Can my dog be boarded or attend doggy daycare if he/she is not spayed or neutered?

We are not able to accommodate pets over the age of 1 year that are not spayed or neutered. If your pet is under the age of 1-we will consider this on a case by case basis. Please call us to discuss the details.

Can I reserve boarding or grooming online?

 We do not take reservations or appointments online. 

Do I need to make an appointment or call ahead to bring my dog to daycare?

 If your pet is already registered for our daycare we are usually able to accommodate them without an appointment. If it is your pet’s first day at our daycare please call ahead so we can discuss your pets individual needs and to verify Vaccination  records.

What items do I need to bring with my dog for boarding? 

UPDATE: Due to Covid-19 protocols we are only able to accept food for your pet

We only require that you bring your pets meals. Please have these meals bagged and clearly labeled with your pets name and feeding instructions. We supply everything else your pet needs during their stay with us.  Please be advised that all items brought into our facility will be marked with your pets name in permanent marker. Please do not bring valuable items with your pet (such as an heirloom blanket or keepsake items). Please do not bring leashes or bowls.

Do you board pets other than Dogs and Cats?

Yes, we can accommodate many other types of pets! Just call for more details.

Do you require a temperament test before my dog can stay with you?

We do not require a temperament test. We have several areas for your pets to play. They may be separated from another pet if their personalities just don’t mesh. Most facilities that require this only have 1 common play area. We DO offer the first day of doggy daycare free so you and your pet can make sure our facility is the right fit.

What Is Your Refund Policy?

All pre-paid daycare packages are non-refundable and expire 1 year from the date of purchase.

All pre-paid boarding packages are non-refundable and expire 1 year from the date of purchase.  If you need to cancel or change a boarding reservation- there will be no fee to do so as long as you have given 48 hours notice. If you are not able to give 48 hours notice- 2 nights will be deducted from the package. The remaining nights will simply stay in your account to be used at any future date within 1 year from the date of purchase.

Do I need to book grooming appointments in advance?

We’re happy to take walk-ins or same day appointments when we have availability. However; we often have a wait list. Booking an appointment for a grooming service ahead of time is highly recommended. We offer a variety of flexible grooming appointments to meet most schedules and needs. Our grooming appointments include a full-day of daycare. Just call to make an appointment that works for you and your pet.

What is your Grooming Appointment Cancellation Policy?

Our grooming appointments are in high demand and our groomers work on a commission basis. If you do not show up for your grooming appointment they do not get paid. Therefore; if you do not give 24 hour notice when cancelling an appointment- you may be required to pay a fee equivalent to 50% of the cost of your missed appointment before you can book future grooming services.

What vaccinations do you require for grooming appointments?

State law requires all pets be current on their rabies vaccinations. In order to maintain a safe and  comfortable environment- We strongly advise they are current with DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations as well. If you chose not to vaccinate against DHPP or Bordetella you will be required to sign a Refusal of Vaccination Release Form. Limited appointment times are available to accomadate pets that are not fully vaccinated. We do not include Doggie Daycare for pets that are not fully vaccinated.

How long will my dogs grooming Appointment take?

If you have provided all of your pet's vaccination records we include a full day of Doggie Daycare with your grooming appointment. This allows us to be flexible. You may drop your pet off as early as 7:30 am and request a pick up time as late as 6:00 pm. We groom the pets in the order of requested pick up times. 

Otherwise we require between 2 and 8 hours to complete the grooming process depending on the breed, coat condition, chosen style, behavior of your pet, and the day's schedule. 

Will my pet be kenneled before/after the groom?

Our grooming service is also Cage-free. Your pet may spend a few minutes in a drying kennel.  Aggressive pets or pets that don’t get along well with others may be kenneled. Pets may be kenneled upon owner’s request.

Can I stay and watch my pet being groomed?

In most cases, if your pet can see you, this usually leads to the pet trying to be with you and can result in a dangerous condition. The groomer is working with sharp tools and looks to avoid additional stress and excitement. Pet parents are welcome to wait in our lobby while their pets are being groomed. (Free wi-fi is available). For the safety of all pets and owners we cannot allow Pet Parents to assist with grooming or to stay in the grooming or bathing areas.

Will my pet be sedated?

We cannot sedate pets. If your pet needs sedation please advise your vet. He can suggest a sedative or something for relaxation. If a sedative is prescribed by your vet, it will need to be administered by you or your vet – prior to your appointment. There may be an additional fee to groom a pet that has been sedated. Pets who have been sedated are not permitted to participate in daycare.
